Randomizers are game modifications and utilities that randomly arranges original game data in a way that significantly increase their replayability. Their randomization are applied before or when starting a new game in order to effectively generate many different games to experience based off the originals. They are also designed to prevent new unwinnable states to the game, or at the very least make such issues extremely unlikely or have easily-applicable non-destructive workarounds.

Randomizers may feature major gameplay tweaks to accomodate possible randomized changes, or other additional minor improvements. However, a game modification or utility that may change any other gameplay element and which cannot be disabled would not be considered a randomizer, as the modified game would become closer to a custom game instead of a randomized one.

This list shows all freely-available video game randomizers known to me that are playable by the general public and not bundled with the game they randomize, regardless of their fun factor. They are listed by the games they randomize and grouped by game series, along with the randomizer's name (or the primary creators' names if it is too generic) in parentheses, along with any additional documentation whenever necessary. I update the list frequently and try to keep it up-to-date to the best of my abilities.

For those interested in creating randomizers, you can listen to the Making a Randomizer panel from Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 explaining the process in detail. ROMHacking.net is also a great resource with plenty of technical information and tools for hacking video games in general. Frameworks such as randomtools-js and Simple Randomizer Maker may also help for development purposes.

For those that perfer an original game experience but still want to experience a randomized challenge, Retro Bravery, Scenario Generator and Hitman Roulette can generate interesting rulesets with randomized goals for many classic video games.

While this list is focused on third-party video game randomizers, there are also many official video game randomizers out there. Most notably, the unlockable item randomizer included in the Nintendo 64 version of Resident Evil 2 is believed to be the very first item randomizer ever.

Still the best wad I played. Is atmosferic but not a retarded like Harry Mason or other mods trynna feel like SilentHill. It's not funny the ancient way of the horror old games, always annoying with bad mechanics and worst PJ movements...but before that DOOM was starting another feeling so much deeper...when you have the ammo and the strength to destroy demons but you are scared THIS IS THIS MOD, NOT CHANGES THE GAME PLAY, ONLY THE AMBIENT...you can try to beat it with your favorite mutators (where IMO COMPLEXDOOM and DOOMRLA fits perfect because the randomization of guns and monsters but you are not OP like in PB3 4example). I love the mod, all I hope is some day we can recreate all the town but maybe the most enigmatic place, Midwich School, is my favorite WAD sience I've touched!THANK YOU LASER_DOOM!

A: There is a conflict with other mods. You can uninstall all mods(It means there is no "natives" folder in your game root folder) at first. And click 're-read game archives' in mod manager. Then install this mod for a quick test.

If you just bought Silent Hill 2 Directors Cut game from steam / origin and you are having hard time completing Silent Hill 2 Directors Cut missions then you are not alone. I used PS2-FPKG_v0.6 converter with the config for PS3 game, it's already present in converter. When converting, check the box Auto-Add PS3 Config, and uncheck the rest, then choose Destroy All Humans V2 emu, just put this Destroy All Humans V2 emu folder into PS2-FPKG_v0.6\emus\ and just select it in the program. Use The suffering 2 emulator configuration inside config-emu-ps4.txt.

As one of the most popular horror series of all time, Silent Hill has become the go-to choice for those who like their terror to be mental as opposed to physical. This is why, for some, Silent Hill Origins remains a very interesting high point for the series.
